Perspectives: Developing and Maturing How We See, Understand, and Comprehend

Perspective is subjective and varies from person to person. Two individuals can experience the same event and have completely different perspectives on it. For example, one person may view a rainy day as a gloomy and depressing experience, while another may view it as an opportunity to cozy up indoors and read a good book.

Perspective can also change over time. As we gain new experiences and knowledge, our perspective on certain topics may evolve. For example, someone who grew up with certain beliefs may develop a different perspective as they encounter different cultures and ideas throughout their life.

One of the most significant aspects of perspective is its impact on our behavior. Our perspective shapes our thoughts and beliefs, which in turn influences our actions. For example, someone with a negative perspective on life may be more likely to engage in self-destructive behavior, while someone with a positive perspective may be more likely to seek out opportunities for growth and improvement.

Perspective can also be influenced by external factors, such as media and social norms. The media has a powerful influence on how we view the world, and it can shape our perspective on certain topics. Social norms can also influence our perspective, as we may conform to societal expectations in order to fit in or avoid conflict.

It is important to recognize that our perspective is not the only perspective. In fact, it is essential to seek out and understand other perspectives to gain a more comprehensive understanding. By listening to and valuing different perspectives, we can build empathy and understanding, and ultimately work towards a more inclusive and just society.

Changing my perspectives will almost always result in changing my mindset. Einstein told us that insanity is repeating the same behavior and hoping for different results or outcomes. When I change my perspectives, I open the possibility for new and alternate outcomes. When I change my perspectives, I open myself to new and alternate results. Many of the articles I write in this blog are all about changing our perspectives. We will not change, nor will the world change, until we change our perspectives.
